わたしの口に刺身が届くまで
【内容】
2006年に祖母が自分で咀嚼ができなくなり、点滴になったとたん、3日で他界したことをきっかけに、「わたしの口に刺身が届くまで」と言う授業を専門学校生や大学生と続けてきた。14年目の今年は、常葉大学造形学部2年生23人と行った授業の様子を記録した。
コロナ禍で、人との接触を少なく、家で過ごす時間が増えた。それでも食べるものはいつだって必要で、テイクアウトやuber eats、amazonを使って家まで届けてもらうと、移動にエネルギーも使うし、プラスチックゴミも増える。食べることを考えると、食べ物そのものの生産や加工のことだけでなく、輸送や保存のことも考えることになる。今、目の前にあるものの生い立ちや背景を知ると、自分の環境は一体どこまでで、どこに関わって何ができるんだろう?。
2020年10月8日（木）
①4人1グループ（計6グループ）で「私の口に刺身が届くまで」を模造紙（1091mm×788mm）に、図解。
②宿題：２週間、自分の口に入れたものを記録する。
2020年10月22日（木）
①「食べるとは、どういうことか？」を話し合う。
②今まで食べたものの中で一番美味しかったものを一つ選ぶ。
2020年10月29日（木）
<zoom> 各自の自宅で、今まで生きてきた中で一番美味しかったものを調理する。
①用意した食材の産地を確認。
②調理。
③実食
④出たゴミの量と内容を記録。

workshop “How Sashimi Reaches Me” 2020
In 2006, when my grandmother could no longer chew herself and got an IV drip, she passed away in three days. Then I started this workshop “How Sashimi Reaches me” with students age 18. This year, its 14th year, I recorded a class with 23 second-year students in the Faculty of Art and Design, Tokoha University.
Due to the COVID-19 disater, we had less contact with people and spent more time at home. Still, we need something to eat. If we use more of takeout foods and uber eats, amazon, we spend more energy for its transport and create a more plastic trash. With eating we have come to think about not just its production and processing but also about its transport and preservation. The workshop gives participants an opprtunity to think about all that is involved in their daily food.
